Okay, that looks to me like a super skinny girl who A. is poking her tummy out with all of her might, B. just ate way too much pasta or C. is bloated from eating too many pickles. Jealous!
One day your stomach will balloon before your eyes, I was the same with my first pregnancy. I was still wearing my regular jeans at 4 months, then poof! Hello maternity wear.
I didn't have to wear maternity clothes until the 8th month...you are so tiny, you will probably never need to buy a single maternity piece (and not have to worry about stretch marks!) Anonymous, being pregnant is one of the most exciting things ever, I hope you write tons and tons and tons about your experience Natalie!
I must say I enjoy your posts about being pregnant, about the old testament (which, BTW have you read the CRAZY story about David and his sons and daughters and the revenge of Absolom - sorry about the spelling - and the betrayal of Jeraboam - spelling again - ? ), and your ramblings in general :)
Life is sometimes super blog-worthy, and sometimes it is just....life. Especially if you are blogging every day/most days, fabulous subjects seem to wax and wane.....I was bemoaning my lack of a blog-worthy life recently and BAM, God gave me blog-worthy life and then I complained that I really wanted my boring life back! LOL. :)
I'm sure with your knowledge of the old testament, you could tell us some great things about vengeance, so I'll leave Anonymous' grumpy sad complaint alone.
But THAT, Madam, is a baby in there, and it's clear to the naked eye that something's going on in that belly!! It also struck me how bizarre our blog community is that I looked at a photo of your belly and said "awwwww". The sun is obviously doing it's job, since the freckles seem to be coming along nicely too!
You look great, Natalie! Finally, we see the belly! I think it's fair for Anon. to have their opinion and it was worded respectfully, even. But why hide your name? Cowardly. -Annie (a fellow blogger & fan of the rat)
I didn't *have* to wear maternity clothes until close to 25 weeks with either of my pregnancies. However that didn't stop be from trying to wear them at 15 weeks because I just knew I had a belly, forget what anyone else was telling me!
Puhlease. If you want to see a belly, just look at mine. DAMN. Your little teeny tummy is smaller than mine usually is WITH NO BABY IN IT!!! But you look great--and nauseatingly cutely pregnant.
Anonymous--well, we miss your name on that nasty little comment. Why don't you be rude and actually own up to it?!? It's hard to tonguelash a nameless person. How about going out and getting your own life instead of complaining about the variety in others' lives?
Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS, my friend! (Natalie--NOT Anonymous.) That 13-week mark is a good time to let out one's bated breath. My sis-in-law, who had almost as much struggle and heartache waiting for that little plus-sign (two years of fertility drugs and even one round of in vitro, which failed), had one little boy out of the blue (ha ha--I mean she got pregnant after giving up the fight! she didn't, like, show up at the ER at 40 weeks going, "WTF? What am I doing here?!? Am I, like, having a baby???") and then got pregnant a second time after many tears and prayers, only to lose baby #2 at 8 or 9 weeks. What a heartbreaking experience. But she's pregnant again with baby #3, and she's only two months behind me! What a reason to celebrate (that was for you, Anonymous!). Getting over that first trimester is such a relief. Plus, you'll start feeling great again. Woo hoo!!! I can't wait for those next seven weeks to fly by so we can all find out if it's a mini-Natalie or a mini-Holbs!!!
I've been waiting and waiting for your first tummy pic and... it is SO CUTE! I'm jealous. I'm sure the smallness, though, is at least partially due to running. You're so healthy-looking! Congrats!
Aawwww, I remember when my tummy looked like that with my first pregnancy and I was ready to wear maternity clothes. It gets bigger, and the novelty wears off pretty quick! You look adorable!!
For as nice and inexpensive as it probably was for Allie to not wear maternity clothes until she was 8 months...don't listen to her ;) Maternity clothes are amazing - elastic-waist pants without the guilt of looking sloppy?! Sign me up! (Oh, wait, already signed up and don't think I'll ever take them off!)
Hey Anonymous - you're kind of acting like a dipshit. You know that, right? I'm guessing you know that, hence the anonymous nature of your comment.
I swear Nat, you are so teeny tiny. When we met I just wanted to pick you up and put you in my pocket. (You get that a lot, don't you. I'm sure. But still.)
It's almost a bump- keep eating you'll get there eventually- I think. Maybe wear a shirt with an arrow and some strange message, a la Brittney, and no one will doubt your gestating state, but they may wonder about your IQ- it's worth it though, but don't you think?
It's not that being pregnant isn't interesting, it's just that you don't actually post ANYTHING other than a picture and one or two lines anymore. An entire post about being pregnant would be interesting, but your blog is just turning into a picture book. I miss your WRITING.
But hey, there are plenty of good blogs out there. See ya.
hello nat. am a new fan. just had a photoshoot by mr. justin as well and hey, you n' me are both in idaho. therefore we should be friends. but let me tell you, that belly is what i call a burrito belly.
Here's a thought anonymous. Why don't you go write your own stellar blog, and then come back here and post a link so we can let you know whether or not what you've posted happens to fall in line with what we, personally, feel you should post that day.
Or maybe you could put up a daily poll and we'll just TELL you what to post about every day. I mean why should you have free will? Your blog should be about entertaining us, not about having fun and expressing yourself. I mean, it should be like a JOB, right? Anyone who gets more than ten readers should be automatically enslaved to follow the preferences of their readership forever, right?
wow... it got a bit heated in here! don't let it get to you nat, you look great and your blog is the only reason i log in every day! chin up as they say here in blighty!x
I understand where anonymous is coming from. But I think Nat is just blissfully enjoying her pregnancy and if it makes her not want to write as much thats okay as long as she's happy! I agree that she shouldn't just write long posts for the sake of pleasing others.
I am so very jealous of you. I am 20 weeks and barely showing at all, and its all because I'm NOT skinny! Your lucky, because you are showing already whether you like it or not (:
are you not the cutest dag gum thing in the world?? That's an adorable little belly, ~and also, being pregnant makes me tired too. I am not pregnant but just thinking about those first few weeks of pregnancy makes me want to get in bed right now! ~Oh and the words preggers/prego/peg perego are gross. ~and finally, my hoarding sister in zion, i have a plate wall that my husband HATES! but I love. And I am sure the realtor will make us pack it away when we try to sell this house. But guess what, realtors DO NOT have half the style we have. Nor do the people who might buy our houses. They are in AWE of our talents, and it is intimidating, which is why your realtor made you take it down, and why the people who have seen your house haven't bought it yet, they are just too insecure for it.
AW, Nat! Wanna take a trip to Johnstown, come to our house (the ugliest one in the neighborhood) where I will take some fun preggo pics? Plan it for about month 7-1/2 or 8! I so wish. You're so sweet, the photos would be darling!
I miss your blog when you actually blogged about stuff.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your hugeness!
(Is it just me, or are Natalie's photos as good, if not...dare I say...better than Justin Hackworth's?)
Personally....I see a bump :)

I've just recently noticed that too. It's very interesting. Maybe I should start writing shorter posts on my blog, haha.
