check it: nothing exciting is going on down here.
sooooo boring.
which is so not helpful when you are trying to have a blog about stuff.
here, i am thinking . . .
today i bought a pillow. i stood there in front of the display for almost forever, staring at pillows and stuff while thinking horribly deep thoughts about things having nothing to do with pillows really.
i had store credit but nothing was speaking to me. and then i got all philosophical about shopping, which is incredibly dangerous.
so now we have a yellow pillow. it matches nothing!
i spent forty five minutes trying to get huck's footprint immortalized in white plaster today. it was surprisingly difficult.
it snowed this morning but then it mostly melted by noon.
shoot.
oh!
no, just kidding.
see?
nothing exciting.
I guess it's just that time of year...nothing exiting happening over here, either. I don't know about you, but this is getting REALLY old!!
ReplyDeleteI ate some completely sinful doughnuts from Pike Place Market in Seattle. Nestled in between all the fresh fish stands and flowers they make this little bits of heaven. I could have died.
ReplyDeleteThat's just how life goes sometimes :) I eat good today- some delicious flat bread and goat cheese... yum!
ReplyDeleteIts Australia Day in Aus today - like 4th July for you. It's hot and we go swimming and eat cakey type things called lamingtons! :) Sponge cake covered in chocolate and dipped in coconut!

I, too, am looking for a striped blue shirt. Let us know if you manage to find one!
ReplyDeleteA down comforter at TJMAXX was on sale for $59 yesterday. I went back today and got it for $39. I kind of wish I were in Australia celebrating in the warmth. Sounds like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to tell you that your new banner is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe spent almost an hour trying to get Fray's handprint into white plaster last night, too! Was Huck squeezing his toes together? We couldn't keep Fray from turning our nicely rolled out clay into a fist full of goo!
ReplyDeleteI never comment on your blog but I love reading it and this post made me laugh because that is my life right now. Staying home with a chubby baby while my husband studies the law all day makes for one exciting life ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when you have to spend store credit and nothing speaks to you? And then when you have no money to spend you like every little thing you see? It's Murphy's law (or Target's law or something).
ReplyDeleteif my brain were working, i'd keep up with my blog at all! i just found your blog through your FIL joe. my mom is his cousin. which means we are awesome second cousins. :) i was just going to comment on the food thing--if you're ever in boise, my grandma can take you to this little cafe that has the most amazing sandwich you'll ever taste. truly. i even dedicated an entire blog post about it once: http://completelychelsea.blogspot.com/2008/07/best-sandwich-ever.html
ReplyDeleteoh, and i have a henry, too. :)
oh and again the whole "brain not working thing", i love that i just put "your FIL joe." y'know, in case you were to confuse him with some of your other FILs...from my own safety, i'm going to stop spamming your blog and go to bed now...
ReplyDeleteLove this post. It's nice to see a reflection of how life just goes sometimes, without any great pictures or stories. Recently came across your blog and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have a frenchy navy and white striped shirt. I have one that isn't exactly navy. I think it's actually gray? But it kinda looks navy and it came from OLD Navy, so that should count for something. I always feel a little more French when I wear it. That is when I can fit in it. Which is not right now. But maybe soon.

And how much i don't want summer to arrive. Really, i don't! I HATE MY SUMMER WARDROBE!! I'm a mom of 2 young boys. I need help finding 'modest' shorts. I'm 35yrs old, and feel it's time to put away my capri's and t-shirts from American Eagle.:) HELP!! Please don't suggest cute cotton dresses. I have to ride bikes, play on jungle gyms, & play in forts, dresses just don't cut it. Help. If anyone one can do it, you can NAT..or Nat's reader's! What i want to really wear are short cut off jeans, and cute tank tops.:( I guess i'm looking for outfits that look put together, yet are casual enough to play with a 1yr old and a 3yr old in. We summer at a lake, so i'm outside all the time. HELP!!!!!!
perfect frenchy navy-striped shirt? JCREW. i got one a few months ago and LOVE it. i wear it all the time and don't care who knows it.
ReplyDeleteI'm having the SAME problem lately. My blog is feeling dull and lonely. I blame it on the January blues... too much winter. A yellow pillow, you say? Interesting.
ReplyDeleteJanuary will soon be over! Then comes the (non)excitement of Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteI'm eating a delicious bowl of porridge right now: Scottish style oatmeal with milk and sugar sprinkled on top. Last night I had a maple butter blondie from Applebee's. Deliciousness.
Not to feel left out of the doldrums...but I'm kind of excited that this month was overwhelmingly crazy.
ReplyDeleteJanuary has been the craziest month for me -- I've worked a total of 3 days thus far due to travel to China and I'm going to Utah this weekend. Hopefully I can get lazy in February because I am so tired!
Hmmm....I need some pillows for my house. Maybe I could re-decorate. I'm feeling a little boring lately too.
ReplyDeleteI sort of think that a new pillow DOES sound exciting. but this time of year *is* terribly drab (I say as I stare out my office window at grey skies and a mountain of snow cleared from the bus lane...)...perhaps it's why I decided to buy this little munchkin: http://myimages.bravenet.com/396/201/380/6/SierraxgrayxsnowxboyxOrange.jpg
ReplyDeletea lovely hedgie distraction. I'm nesting for his homecoming in february. and I guess I *did* have some tasty thai recently...
French Navy-striped shirt you say?! Whoa. I am wearing one right now! The Hubs always makes fun. (Apparently he has no vision.) It's serendipitous (check out my big words) that I found your blog just last week because now I feel validated. Wow, thanks! I would tell you that I got it at Target last year but that would be of no help to you at all. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with navy striped anything! Don't feel bad I haven't blogged in a month!!
ReplyDeleteYES! I have! I just discovered Thomas Bagel Thins at my grocery store, and I bought the "everything" flavor. Mmmm, so good with Philly!
ReplyDeleteWell, I had a baby boy last Friday! And soon I will write a post about it complete with pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLife is great, isn't it?! Especially when you are real, like this post! It isn't always going to be exciting. Some of it is just good, normal everyday stuff. And you made me want something yellow to brighten up my January day! The power of suggestion is strong! :) Hmmm...a yellow jacket? Maybe a candle? I'm going to think of this post next time I see something yellow at the store.
