My mom is coming to town and boy am I glad. I've been jonesing to walk all the way down to SoHo for no reason lately, and who else is going to do that with me? Get here, mama!

  1. I will not be wearing the socks with sandals trend, but I salute you for doing it. I have seen it and it is cute. So make that happen! Do it! Be fearless in the face of withering questioning! Not quite sure why I'm exclaiming (exclamating?) all this much!

  2. Salads without dressing? That's like being married but not able to...you know...Why would you take out all the good parts?

  3. Being lawyered sounds just as awful as when my mathematician decides I am wrong (and then I can't ever, not ever, not even a little, be right. MATH proved me WRONG.)

  4. The socks with sandals has always been a trend here in Utah. Unfortunately it's the velcro tevo type sandals with socks and not the trendy sandals and studded socks that I had I saw you in, I am sure I would have complimented.

  5. As a former swimmer, I find NOTHING wrong with the socks and sandals. In fact, I still highly recommend it!

And as for the "Roll My Eyes So Hard I See Stars" Method...well, I've been using that almost daily for the past 4 or so weeks, can't say that I've been disappointed in the results it's gotten me. :)

  8. My husband is from Utah. He wears the sandals with the socks, which I have to say is oh so humiliating for me to be with him when he does it. And he wonders why when he's naked it looks like he's still wearing socks because of his tan lines.

  10. Sorry to tell you, but once they've been schooled in the Socratic Method from law school...it NEVER goes away. Not ever. And now my cute law student is the prosecutor who thinks I am the defendant and takes that Socratic Method to the next level. Not. Cool.

  11. I saw you in socks and sandals on Sunday, and I thought they looked great. (Should I give you a compliment on the skirt with roosters on it too?)

  12. I dream of the day Jennifer Garner will realize she and I were destined to be friends, so her two little girls can come play with MY two little girls and I can eye her husband in a completely appropriate, tasteful, I'm-totally-loyal-to-my-husband-you-hot-HOT-man sort of way. That day will come. I'm sure of it.

Yay for Julie-moms! My Karen-mom (and Jim) and I spend every day of their visits at the mall. And when I visit, we go to Bridgeport Village, naturally. I miss Bridgeport Village. It has an Anthropologie flavor that Southtowne Center just does NOT.

  13. Socks with Sandals: conjuring up the vision of retirees in Florida, black socks with velcro sandals.

    I cannot appreciate.

Perhaps if a picture of said socks/sandals combo was available, otherwise I'm taking away a few of your coolpoints, not to worry you're still at the top of the list

  14. You're in NY. I'm pretty sure nearly every type of dress code is acceptable SOMEWHERE in NY. Am I right?

And why do husbands insist on using leading questions? My hub does it too, except he is NOT a law student. Urgh. As a bachelor of journalism, I learned to NOT use leading questions for the sake of keeping stories unbiased... so it really bugs me. lol

  15. Socks with sandals! I am loving that so much. Plus church is my favorite place to try out trends, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it is just a place to dress up for so that explains it, but maybe not.

  16. I entered! Thanks for info! Hope I get chosen!

  17. As a person from Florida and thereby forthwith (sounds smart and semi-lawlerly huh?) having the authority on all things sandals I can say for absolutely certain that unless they are those rubbery slide type shoes that you put on after soccer whilst still wearing your soccer socks (or whatever sport) then it's a definite no. Although I am totally a fan of cute socks, plain white is so boring.

  18. Haha! My husband is the KING of the leading question thing, and he didn't even pay for the schooling of how to do it right. I try not to roll my eyes anymore, because last time, I think I pulled an eye muscle.

  19. Just wait until he starts taking depositions. Learning to depose witnesses has become my #1 tool for wearing down my husband. It's great!

  20. I will eat salad without dressing with you!! I'm a staunch no dressing person. I've converted my father in law so far, but no one else seems to see the wonder of it.

  21. Dang that Socratic method, my Mr. has it too, I think it's in his DNA. I try to be all patient and sweet but that eye rolling sounds mighty appealing. I think I'll try that!

  22. Thank you Thank you Thank you for posting about 30 strangers!!! Somehow my mom and I were lucky enough to be chosen, which is awesome in and of itself. BUT, that also means that now my mom has to come for a previously unplanned visit. HOORAY.

Thanks for posting about it, or we never would have known.
