it is the grizzliest, ickiest kind of portland winter day out today. the mist is soup thick and the wet chill cuts straight through to your bones. first thing when we got home from church i got a fire going in the fireplace and i have been slow-cooking myself next to it while watching season one of downton abbey ever since.
the rest of portland obviously has this same idea, because the air outside smells so very good, like wet pine needles and a hundred dry chimney fires.
here's what you may have missed last week over at babble:
(this one was SO FUN to put together.
i'm only mildly obsessed with my green skinnies from target.)

size up a size or two.
those are some strangely sized pants, target.)

and, of course, huck's blog!
hope you enjoy them!
first of all. portland is my favorite. born and raised there. i came to love the rain and over cast. silly, i know, but it feels like home that way.
ReplyDeletesecond. Downton Abbey is my guilty pleasure. i absolutely love everything about it. and I've watched Season 1 and Season 2 and the Christmas Special at least two times each. Soooo good. (i had to find Season 2 and Christmas Special on-line since it was airing in Britain but not USA.)
enjoy downton abbey! second season starts this week and i'm so excited!
ReplyDeletewith the lack of a fireplace in this dingy old rental, i am wrapped up in my snuggly throw blanket sipping hot chocolate with cinnamon cream. Delicious. it makes the chill leave my bones. stay warm.
ReplyDeleteSo funny I just added Downtown Abbey on Netfix a few days ago. Don't you live in NYC, did I miss a post??? I LOVE Portland, used to live in Lake Oswego <3
ReplyDeleteWait.. which portland? Oregon? Because I thought it was insanely nice here in Oregon today. The sun was shining and it wasn't miserably wet and cold like most January days. :)

ReplyDeleteugh, I can't buy anything from Target - everything is sized so weird! First world problem, I suppose.
