Yep, I was cutting a delicious Costco croissant in half once and didn't stop until I was half an inch into my hand. Ouch! Why are those knives so snap?!
I did the same thing once. I cut my thumb open making dinner. I was so panicked by all the blood I wrapped it in a tea towel and went to the walk in clinic. They put one stitch in it and sent me home. My husband still laughs at me to this day.
I sliced my hand open a couple months ago on a chipped glass I refused to throw away because I am cheap like that. Lesson learned. I also learned to not wash dishes in your underwear... lets just say it was a very awkward afternoon.
You know those vegetable slicers that you slide the vegetable up and down real fast on to create thinly sliced veggie treats? I'm sure they have a remarkable name, I'll have to watch that infomercial again...turns out they are really sharp. The tip of my ring finger found that out when it was lopped off into a salad. Yum. There's that tid bit for your afternoon. So yeah I feel yo' pain! Ouchy
I'm sooo sorry that happened to you. I sewed my finger in HS and was stuck to the machine until the nurse came. I had to go to the ER to get it removed. Didn't hurt too much but still tramatic!
My best friend cut her thumb working on an architectural model for school. It took a long time to heel and screwed up her knitting. :-( http://thenutmegpolymath.com/2010/12/05/the-price-of-good-design/
OMG. I'm so sorry for you and your agonizing pain! I did this last summer...cut strawberries with a steak knife, right into my thumb! It was horrible. I vowed to leave those steak knives where they belong!
AAAHHH! Bread knife cuts are the worst. One time I decided to open a bag of powdered sugar w/ a bread knife & sliced my thumb the same way. Everytime I think about it I shudder. I feel your pain!
oh no thats awful! did you have go to hospital get stitches?
ReplyDeleteI am paranoid of cutting bagels b/c I imagine taking my fingers off. Feel better.
