it's the busy season for tax accountants, but it's not the busy season for international tax attorneys. most nights this week brandon has been able to come home early, while the sun's still out and everything. what a luxury! sometimes, when it's warm enough, we'll trek south to meet the him on his walk north. it's quite the tactical mission. lots of text messages flying back and forth and "i'm on the west side of ninth!" and "but i crossed over to tenth!" and then! oh how sweet it is when huck spots his old man coming up the street and realizes, hey! that's my dad-person!
p.s.
grandpa pants

Oh to be young and little and able to walk down 10th street and see our "daddy person". I'm gonna walk down 10th street right now and keep a look out for my very own "daddy person". O.k., no I'm not 'cause I live in Hawaii, and my "daddy person" lives in Hawaii which is nowhere near 10th street, and I'm not so young and little anymore either... boo. But that is just the sweetest thought-- ever.

ReplyDeleteYou just brought a little bit of happiness to Germany. Beautiful pictures! Love the pants!
ReplyDeleteOr a few long layered necklaces? Impressed you can pull them off...
ReplyDeleteI love these posts. You write exactly how I think. I love when my son spots his "dad person" too! He thought he spotted him tonight while I read him "Knufflebunny," but it was really Trixie's daddy...I got a lump in my throat when I realized he really was telling me he wanted him there to tuck him in...oy, dad persons. I wish they didn't have to lawyer slash commute slash work their butts off so much...
um. i think i need a pair of grandmas pants....now!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is darling. It makes me think of how great a dad my fiance will be. We get married this May, and it's great to see people happily married and not tearing out each other's throats.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful is this post?! New follower :)
