we loved living in brooklyn. we talk about moving back all the time. when we lived there in 2005, rents were muuuuch cheaper than they are now, there really isn't much of a rent break anymore unless you get clear out past prospect park. brooklyn holds a big old chunk of our hearts nonetheless. one of our favorite things to do is take the train under the east river, pop out at brooklyn heights for sushi, then take a long walk along the promenade. except we NEVER do it. it's one of those weird things. somehow the last three weekends in a row we made plans for brooklyn and then never made it past 55th street. what is that?
on saturday we finally made it to brooklyn, illing and able. (r.i.p. MCA)
(if you play this while reading, this post might either become a.) slightly more bad-ass, or else 2.) way way way less bad-ass. you decide.)
p.s. these were delicious. and weird.
that don't make no sense.
(more brooklyn tomorrow, lucky you?)

ReplyDeleteWhen we sleep we go through 5 stages of sleep: stages 1 through 4, called non-rem stages, and the 5th stage called REM sleep. REM is an acronym for rapid eye movement and describes our eyes' activity during this stage of sleep. It is during rapid eye movement sleep that our bodies are thought to restore themselves and it is said that without this stage of sleep, we would die. This is thought to be the case because if we starve ourselves of REM sleep, our brain sends a signal forcing our bodies to jump into REM a lot quicker the next time we lay down for sleep. This is the brain's way of trying to make up for the lost REM the last time around - a type of self-preservation.
