spending a day in the village with me has got to be the most obnoxious thing ever. when i'm downtown i have to tell anyone in ear shot how much i love it down there about once every block. "ugh i loooove it down here!" over and over and over.
on saturday we had plans to eat a late brunch at the spotted pig on greenwich and then wander all over so i could narrate my thoughts about street signs. while we were there we happened upon a little flea market on perry street, stopped in at popbar for some gelato, got the wiggles out at a huck-sized tots playground, and enjoyed all the musicians and performers at washington square park. (of all the parks, washington square is the best for people-watching.) and then we walked up to union square, over to abc carpet, up to the flat iron, and caught the train home at 23rd. and then my legs fell off.
we love having you in the city with us, mama!
As you know, I love love love the West Village too! And bore the heck out of anyone near me who will listen.......GREAT photos of your adorable family and pretty mom! Hope you had a Happy Mother's Day!

O to walk where Carrie Bradshaw has walked, what a dream. Also I like to say the same thing over and over until someone acknowledges me it's very annoying, but sometimes people just gotta hear it ya know! Also that skirt! Please tell us where you got it!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun day!! your little huck is just too cute for words, and what a precious family!
ReplyDeleteI also adore the West Village. It's so ridiculously charming! :) Did you get some free advice?!
ReplyDeleteYou had a rainbow hovering over your family! I think that's good luck.
ReplyDeleteI would like to pay that man $1 for advice. He looks wise. Cute, cute, cute! I love it all!

ReplyDeleteJOY JOY JOY JOY DOWN IN MY HEART!!!! LOVE THE PHOTOS!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures of your day are like watching a happy, romantic comedy with a cute lil' blonde babe in the mix. As always, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAh the West Village. It really is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat little old French Bulldog is the cutest. I honest can't believe that a place like this exists! The most exciting thing going on in my town on a Saturday is that I get to sleep in!

According to my calculations, you have about ten years before the glow starts to fade give or take a few months for variations in temperament. When my boy was four he told me I was beautiful, but not cool. Remember that there are really great parts to enjoy when they're eleven even if they aren't as snuggly. Enjoy it all as fast as you can. jb
ReplyDeleteokay, you officially live in the greatest place ever! loving your family photo! picture perfect!

these photos are all so lovely - this past weekend was the best in nyc.
ReplyDeletegirl, i'm pinning that photo of you and huck and the playground frog onto my 'mamas' board. because, well look at you guys.
ReplyDeleteYou got the 50 1.8 didn't you?? Lovely photos :) They are great! You are just stunning and your little boy is adorable
ReplyDeleteOh, these photos make me heartsick and homesick. I used to live on Thompson Street, and SoHo, NoHo and the West Village were my home. My dog and I would walk for hours upon hours, and you can rant about your feelings for this place to me any time you like. I hope that one day in the not too distant future, I will be able to take my little baby girl back to the Village and say, "This is where Mummy met Daddy," and "This is where Mummy first felt like she belonged."
ReplyDeleteahhh nat you are such a doll!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Hucks sandals!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think huck could get any cuter and then he does.
ReplyDeleteAnd i provide my husband with a constant commentary of my thoughts when i am in the right mood and i think he loves it despite what the eye rolling might suggest.
Huck seems like such a very happy little boy! He is always smiling!!
ReplyDeleteI used to live on W 11th, not far from Magnolia/Bleecker/Little Marc Jacobs, and whenever you take pictures of the village my heart hurts a bit. But I know I'll go back someday.
ReplyDeleteI love the city, but I know I would miss the suburbs if we moved. I think the city and I are just meant to have a torrid long distance affair where I sneak off to visit her whenever I can.
