a little taste of my huckleberry at almost twenty-two months:
- says "ohhhh nooo! pweeease!" when things aren't going the way he expects them to.
- can hold a mean conversation with just about any person, toy, or pencil he comes in contact with.
- loves to wear his mama and daddy's shoes around the house.
- likes to bang his head on things in a most dramatic fashion when he's told "no."
- can spot a mickey on a tee shirt from a block away and shout, "MEE!"
- happily eats beets, cornichons + olives, but won't touch his mac + cheese if it has even a spec of green pea in it.
- if he's gone missing, you can always find him hiding out under the covers of the big bed, giggling uncontrollably, waiting to be caught.
- loves stacking rolls of toilet paper in the hallway, knocking them over, and saying, "uhoh!"
- demands a daily outing by patiently sitting by his stroller, one hand on the seat, until we're ready to go.
- enjoys pondering life's great mysteries while watching the laundry spin in the washing machine.
- tans in the sun like a surfer.
- responds surprisingly well to reason when i'm trying to teach him how to behave like a gentleman mid-tantrum.
- spins in circles in the living room till he makes himself dizzy, then giggles as he stumbles around the room like a drunkard.
- gives terribly satisfying kisses, with a nice "mmm" lead-up. "mmmmm-POW."
- hugs his nemo passionately to his chest and plants one of his famous kisses on that fuzzy orange face like it's been months, every time he sees him.
- wakes up at least once during every nap, slaps his little bare feet on the hardwoods into the living room to find me, then stares at me in a daze with his hair sticking up in a most delightful manner until i carry him back to the bed and help him fall back asleep.
- likes to gasp before starting his sentences. "gasp!! lajflkjkdkatkljkaj"
- still isn't speaking much english.
- though he can say cow, truck, cat, mickey, dog, shoe, mama, daddy, book, and of course, the most important of them all, chocolate.
- giggles in his sleep.
- has cheeks for days.
- does not wake up happy. ever.
- gets that from his mother.
- enjoys long walks around the city.
- positively adores shiny red balloons.

ReplyDeleteSuch a stinking cutie! My kiddo's fav is a Stitch doll. He LOVED the giant Stitch at Disney and every time he sees his Stitch he grabs him up in a HUGE hug that involves much adorable nose wrinkling.
ReplyDeleteand i didn't think huck could get any cuter. love that you treasure these moments :)

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - adorable. :)
ReplyDeletethat little Huckleberry of yours is adorable! reminds me of my 18-month-old daughter...i don't think there's anything cuter than one-year-olds!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable. But I'm really confused by the photo of you kissing him. It looks like your shirt is pulled up. Just been driving me nuts that I can't make sense of it! Does anybody else see that? What am I missing? :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Never mind, I got it...you're squatting. I feel silly now. :D

Oi. So cute! The only thing that would make this better would be seeing it all in person. But, I guess that is what makes being a mother special - VIP access.
ReplyDeleteYep. This is the best age!
ReplyDeleteHuck is the cutest ever! He sounds so delightful, thanks for letting us meet him through words:) I love his cheeks and his beautiful little face, you have a very perfect child!

ReplyDeletexo TJ
You need to post more videos of sweet Huck! He's just too precious.
ReplyDeletei love the look on his face in that third (i think) picture. so cute.
ReplyDeleteohhhhhh. this is the cutest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteYour Huck is just a few days older than my Laiken, so I especially love reading about him because they are so close in age. Laik isn't talking a lot yet either!
ReplyDeleteWhat a big personality for a little guy! Waiting for stroller rides? Giving good kisses? SAYING "CHOCOLATE"? Dang, that's a smart baby (with good taste, too). And cute! Boy, is he ever a little heart-stealer. I'd better not show my one-year-old daughter any pictures of him or she might fall in love and then there'd be all those long distance phone calls where she'd profess her love and I'm GUESSING that the babes PROBABLY couldn't pay for these calls and we'd get stuck with the bills, so yeah...I'll have to coo over his cuteness by myself.
ReplyDeleteCoo coo coo.
:)
Gosh, Huck is the the most adorable child ever. Those anime eyes!
ReplyDeleteobsessed with huck - cutest little man :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy boy! He liked that red balloon!
