i've been listening to these two songs on repeat the past few weeks and they have left me feeling all kinds of antsy for fall and for fingerless gloves. and for getting my sisters out here for a visit. and obviously for kittens in tiny garden spaces. ;)
i hate to wish away the last of our summer, because these times are really good times for my little family of three. but shoot, september. i'll be ready for you this time.
Natalie, thank you thank you thank you! That track from The Staves just put my baby girl to sleep in my arms, after almost an hour of grizzling and crying post booster-jab at the hospital this morning. Now she is so peaceful and I have you to thank. Hooray!
ReplyDeletenatalie, thank you for the music! love both of these...peace.
ReplyDeletethis captures where i am perfectly. thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh, Nat, I've had that itch since... March. Serious.
ReplyDeletei've had the itch for fall times lately...boots and cozy sweaters, and the falling of leaves.

I'm feeling the same way about September.
ReplyDeletethose songs<3 I'm always wishing for fall. Always.
ReplyDeleteI am a big Autumn fan. Except that this year we haven't really had a summer in England yet. A few warm days so we can hit the beaches in Wales for a few weekends would be much appreciated! Beautiful songs too.
ReplyDeletei have had this itch for quite a while. i can't wait for it to be that crisp air. just can't wait for things to change a bit.
ReplyDeleteand don't get me started about christmas i am excited about it already--i don't know how this happened.
oh and the end of november then my baby girl will be here--hopefully fingers crossed :)
yes so basically, year get a move on.
I'm starting to hanker after Autumn too, I love it so much!! But like you, I don't want to wish away these lovely last days of Summer!!
ReplyDeleteThe Staves! They opened for a bon iver concert I went to this spring - they are amazing! I haven't been able to stop listening to them since.
ReplyDeleteI have a brand new bright red trench from j crew hanging in the closet and taunting me, I tell you. I'm super ready to change up the clothing rotation.
ReplyDeleteThis has been the hottest summer ever (literally, in the record books) in St. Louis. And I am sooooo ready for Fall. I've even broken out my fall CDs and wore a long sleeve shirt to church, cause dang it, I miss them (plus the church always had the AC cranked up)! And it did drop into the 90's this week, I can feel Fall coming on. I think one more BBQ and trip to a lake will do it for me though.
ReplyDeletenever heard of either of these songs. now i'm obsessed! can't wait for fall and all the layering. yay!

The curse of a long-distance relationship: my brain is never in the present, always waiting for me at the next scheduled visit. Lucky for me that is currently only three days away! :)
ReplyDeletewow, such a nice song, esp. the staves. thanks, have added them to my pandora!
ReplyDeleteI saw the Staves with Bon Iver a few months ago..they were amazing!
ReplyDeleteI've also been jonesing for fall... it makes me feel silly because I feel like I was just recently pining away for summer!
ReplyDeleteI feel you though, there is nothing quite like weather that allows for big chunky sweaters and cute boots, walks through crunchy fall leaves and apple cider!

ReplyDeleteI feel like you'd like this :)
What beautiful songs. I was getting antsy for autumn - cosy sweaters, boots, walks through crackling leaves - but then the sun has FINALLY decided to come out in bonny scotland and wishing summer away seems daft. That said, as soon as it slips behind a cloud, all thoughts of Autumn are back on. Especially Autumn clothes...

There is something so romantic about autumn isn't there? It's definitely my favorite season.
