we flew out of jfk late christmas day to spend new years with brandon's family in salt lake city. since we arrived, the sky has done nothing but empty itself all on top of us. it's beautiful and quiet and serene. we've stayed indoors mostly and i am happy to report that cabin fever strikes equally in plus-4000 square feet, just the same as it does in minus-800. cabin fever is the great equalizer.
i popped through the house today and snapped a few photos when huck was busy with a cookie. enjoy the snow!
p.s. a quick shot from christmas morning that i've been loving:
Woah, the snow! Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome snow! I would love to have a white Christmas one year. You guys look pretty cosy indoors in your winter warmers!! x
ReplyDeleteCabin fever truly can strike anywhere at anytime....it doesn't discriminate...I am in utah and have been snowed in with my two little ones! I am an Oregonian as well and (Medford) and we never saw snow like this ;) I hope things start taking a huge turn for the better for you!
ReplyDeletelove you friend cate
Christmas pretty much equals cabin fever in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteLife is pretty tough sometimes, hey. Hope you can get yourself through a rough innings without being too sad.
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks beautiful! Hope you don't get sick :(
ReplyDeleteUtah, despite being germy, is GORGEOUS. Also- I never realized just how active I was in the city until I left. How keep myself moving out here with endless sidewalks??
ReplyDeleteWow snow! I've never seen or played with snow before. :(( Happy holidays to you and your family!
ReplyDeletemy whole family just visited me in nyc and left their germs behind. stay healthy and enjoy the snow while you can!
ReplyDeleteThat is a whole lotta snow!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens, Utah is completely overrun with germs right now! Pure craziness! Seems like just about everyone I know was puking over Christmas. My little family all had colds just before Christmas. I didn't get it (knock on wood)...but you just watch, I'll get something from some neighbor or something. On the other hand....glory be and hallelujah for the snow!!! We haven't had a white Christmas in far too long! (Sorry it's making you cabin crazy.)
ReplyDeleteBoston is pretty germy right now, too- I'm very sad to report! Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family, Natalie! :)
ReplyDeleteCan I ask... Where are your awesome little booties from? They look a little like the Madewell Zipcode ones...?
ReplyDeleteI spy a jackalope sweater! Merry Christmas, Holbrooks! xo
ReplyDeletethere is something kind of freeing about falling asleep in your clothes. the part i like best is when you wake up in the morning and change into your pajamas for the day. so great.
ReplyDeletealso, i am headed to SLC from Arizona this Saturday through Wednesday, also for the new year, and your pictures are helping me decide what to pack. better drag out the boxes of clothes that served me well during college but haven't seen the light of day since migrating back to AZ!
Deleteoh my natalie. DON'T GET SICK. i had the stomach flu two weeks ago, my parents just flew back to DC to also have caught it, my brother and his baby boy in orem have it..the hubster is coming down with something.....GERMZ.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! I would love to go to Utah in the winter. From what I've noticed around the web is everyone is catching this bug... maybe it's spreading virally and by that I mean the web o.O I hope your family keeps those icky germs away!
ReplyDeletewelcome to Utah! I hope none of you get sick! all christmas we hang out with my sick in laws kids but we are still healthey! knock on wood!
ReplyDeleteIts such a great time to be in Utah right now! You can take a drive through the mountains, collect icecicles with Huck, go snowshoeing with a bundled Huck in a backpack, drive to look at the frozen bubbles in Utah Lake and the glorious view, go ice skating for a buck in South Jordan while pulling Huck on a sled etc. all without getting anyone's germs. I have some more ideas on my little blog if you need some: www.spoladventureclub.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteyou seriously make me laugh~
ReplyDeleteglad you made it out West for the Holidays
