we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on saturday at the intrepid sea, air, and space museum. (thank you, ashley!) it was pretty much the only time i got out of the house at all this weekend, on account of i've been on a little bit of a vampire diaries bender?
wandering the exhibits inside the intrepid and seeing the preserved bunks and mess hall was pretty neat, i had no idea how tricked out this museum was. but our favorite part by far was the amazing collection of jets and helicopters up on top. it was nuts to see all these iconic jets from world war I and II set against the manhattan skyline. huck was in heaven. and i could tell the afternoon was pretty special to brandon, too. his dad was in the air force and flew in vietnam. i know brandon appreciated seeing what it was like for the men and their jets that served our country during war time.
i totally had that faith hill song from that pearl harbor movie stuck in my head the whole time.
and btw--team stefan, all the way. haters to the left.
are you all caught up on vampire diaries then? If you're not, you might change your mind :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great job as a mom! Huck is so well behaved!
ReplyDeleteOkay this is a very random comment but I'll say it anyways. It has to do with naming your next bambino. With Huck's love of jets, and more importantly B's dad having been in the airforce - a great name to incorporate all this meaning (should you have a girl) would be Juliet nn Jet. How sweet is that? Bro and sis, Henry & Juliet (umm..hello, perfect pairing) or Huck & Jet. Swoon!
ReplyDeleteSorry...this is just my name nerdiness shining through.

these are the cutest father-son photos. ever. and that man can rock a trench! we just started downton abbey…actually, i'd been asleep for an hour when my husband woke me up last night to steal some time in front of the t.v…he's started saying things like, "that's the ticket!" it's so weird & heavenly. maybe vampire diaries will be our next fling.
ReplyDeleteooooooh Miss Natalie, you devastate me. Team Damon here. That's ok, we can be civilized and agree to disagree here. (even though you are adorably misguided in your vampire affections. tee hee.) Actually, as time has gone on, Stefan has really grown on me. I realized when I really like him : When he's in a scene with ANYONE other than Elena.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great family day! and..... TOTALLY <3 Team Stefan... I am way too obsessed with that show! I also got sucked into watching Beauty and Beast (which airs after TVD).... please watch :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that?! What a fun time!
ReplyDeletethis is such a great museum, we went last year for memorial day which is probably the most crowded time to go but we had the benefit of seeing all the sailor whites in town for fleet week from the observation deck. and this definitely had me singing and quoting pearl harbor for the next three days.
ReplyDeleteyour son made me smile. so special x
ReplyDeletehaha I'm 100% team Stefan :) although honestly, I'd totally be okay with Elena being with Damon if that meant I could have Stefan to myself... sometimes I wonder if I care a little too much about this show.
ReplyDeletethat place looks awesome! thanks for sharing! Team Damon tho. I'm starting to love Stefan as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day for a two year old! It is so cool seeing all those huge machines juxtaposed against Manhattan, awesome sight.
