this weekend i got to see a lot of my favorite girls. a bunch of my friends flew into town for the bugaboo launch, and it was wonderful in that kind of way where you keep grabbing everyone's arms and saying, "oh i'm so glad you're heeeeeere!' while i was out catching up on saturday, huck's little cold he'd had on and off all week turned into a weird mess of all the sick stuff a kid could ever get sick with. luckily brandon was home with him, and luckily brandon is the business. he is the best dad. he texted me to tell me what was going down and that he was taking over 100%, and that i was not to come home early under any circumstances. we've had this silly prearranged deal since marriage that sicknesses of certain kinds from any future kids would fall squarely in his department, and certain other sicknesses of other kinds would fall in mine, so it was kind of funny to see our plan working out so well.
huck on the mend now and was happy as a clam even through the worst of it. here are a few photos from the weekend:
brunch at pastis, and stroopwafels with the bugaboo CMO and team from california (she is dutch, the CMO, and her sunglasses were beyond rad. this has nothing to do with anything, these are just the things that stuck out at me)
on friday (when huck had his health!) we did some filming around the city with jenner from lumineux films for the small fry blog. i am so excited to see it.
shake shack with the ladies
chelsea market for a quick snack (we ate a lot this weekend)
bumming around the meatpacking district
then it was home to snuggle with my little sickie and catch up on some general conference.
this year we watched it on the roku (hey thanks, ashley!) so we got to watch a little granite flats afterward. the sets and the costume design are a total dream. pretty impressive, byutv.
(fun fact: i worked at byutv for a semester in college, so, go cougars!)
Poor Huck! Being sick can be so hard when you're a little kid. Also, I'm crazy jealous of your fun weekend. I'm pretty sure I didn't get out of my pajamas all weekend and ate way too many cinnamon rolls, because, hey, that's whatchya do during Conference weekend.

I looooovvvveee stroopwafels! And yes, I am a girl of the dutch. It is practically a food group for us people. {you gotta try the giant ones, strait outta the old country. they are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. like a pound of butter in each one, I'm pretty sure.} I also think me and this Jenna could be the best of friends, because I would totally like to come eat my way through that market as well...
ReplyDeletethat's sooo awesome that bugaboo brought you all together!!

Your polka dot dress - INCREDIBLE. You are a gorgeous gorgeous woman.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfits! You're a beautiful mama and as usual, Huck is adorable! :)
ReplyDeletei can't believe the high is 70! i'm so happy for you!!
ReplyDeleteSo I did some of that spring cleaning switching out closets etc thing this weekend. I also readied my patio for coffee sipping mornings and Manhatten sipping afternoons....tonight and tomorrow is a BLIZZARD watch with up to 18" predicted. CRAP.
ReplyDeleteoh well. Spring is here. She just needs a really cute rain jacket lined with fleece and rubber boots. :)
Can we talk about the dancing thing? Once upon a time, at a watering hole on the UES, my date pulled me off my bar stool and he spun me for all of 5 seconds before the manager made us stop. Apparently, in NYC, you have to have a cabaret license or something to allow dancing in your establishment. The guy was VERY SERIOUS about it. A bit of a bummer, but I wonder if something similar was at work at your party. :(
ReplyDeleteAww I hope Huck's feeling better! Otherwise, it looks like a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend! Can't believe they asked you not to dance! What's a party without dancing?!
ReplyDeleteSounds amazing! Hope he is recovered today so that you can get out and enjoy that lovely weather!!

ReplyDeleteTHIS. I live in this. Like every day. It's heartbreaking, and awesome, and totally real at the same time. Oh, the joys of being a mom/woman.
i loved all of your girls' weekend and lived it vicariously through instagram more than any other. i met up with the SF girls at the airport before they left (for a ball drop off you know. big biz.) and sent them on their way with a whole lotta love.

ReplyDeleteOk, 1, I love that polkadot dress and I am SERIOUSLY digging the midi length skirts that I'm seeing all over the place lately. Ladylike chic is the most rock and roll, right? 2, this weather today is freaking crazy. I love it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Hogs and Heifers Saloon, in fact, Coyote Ugly? Totally unrelated to anything you wrote about, but I defied my parents to see that movie in seventh grade...holla!
