i don't know what it is about brooklyn in the summer time but i just want to spend every day of my life down there between june and august.
we've been out there twice in the last five days, and both times it just felt nice. we wander our old hood, we eat at our old favorite places, we crane our necks to see if key food ken is still loitering around in front of our old grocery store . . . and i don't know if i've said this but the new brooklyn bridge park is kick ass. there is so much to do with little kids down there. the subway platform at borough hall still smells the way the borough hall subway platform always smelled. like home. and like maple syrup kind of. it's just nice.
and not for nothing, but hot bagels on montague street. until the day i die.
and now for the photo portion of this blog post. pee to the ho-tos!
alex is here! alex is here! we are going to talk more about this later.
oh the dang pop up pool. (when we lived in brooklyn the pop up pool was on a freaking barge. this is an improvement.)
squirrely toddlers! huck has been ON ONE THIS WEEK. it almost makes him more fun, if you can believe it.
huck has zero fear in the water.
p.s. belize was there! (i love belize!)
latonya and river too! huck and river are real sweet together.
right so.
and by the way.
this is how henry holbrook eats a bagel.
it's a pretty great technique.
p.s.:
my suit is from madewell

First of all, apartment hunting!? That's exciting, even though I will miss thinking of you in your cute place. Second, Brooklyn? I can see it, I really can.

ReplyDeleteApartment hunting is so exciting! Hanna Marie
ReplyDeleteSo true-Brooklyn is so much cooler (temp wise) than Manhattan.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the summer so much more now that we're in BK and not in the steamy, crowded Lower East Side.
I just moved to Brooklyn (fort greene to be near all the trains) after four years in manhattan and yeah...it's pretty damn good. I kind of think you should, and I work hours like Brandon! I miss gramercy and my sweet super for sure but it's a pretty great spot. so I say go for it :) no matter what good luck with your search, it's never fun in nyc.
ReplyDeleteWhere is your swimsuit from? I love it!
ReplyDeleteI second that motion ^^^ I want your suit!!
ReplyDeleteI third the notion! Please oh please let us know! Thanks!
Deleteawwwwww you sisters look so alike it is crazy : ) Brooklyn sounds so lovely. And Huck eating that bagel made my heart melt so so much ! Have fun with your sister in town! xx
ReplyDeleteQueens is cooler than Manhattan, too. It's because there's less concrete/tall buildings trapping the heat in! I live in QNS but I go to BK at least a few times a month despite the fact that it can be a trek; I love getting down there and exploring new neighborhoods. Wburg & Greenpoint are best for hanging out & vintage hunting, and Fort Greene is a lovely quiet place to wander, but I do really love Boerum Hill! Cute shops & restaurants galore.
