i've gotten a lot of requests lately for a round up of slouchy white tee shirts, and you know me, i do aim to please.
i have a thing for basics. it's about looking effortless but more than that, it's about being effortless. and the thing about slouchy white tees is, well, i could go on and on about the thing about slouchy white tees but i'll spare you that and give you this: if you put the kid to bed, then hop in a nice hot shower, really moisturize your brains out, then toss on a slouchy white tee and black leggings and crawl into bed, come morning you're already 30% dressed. and since you're me and you're embracing your bed head and not brushing your hair all that much... i mean, brush your teeth though, and concealer, but seriously, you've basically woken up ready to roll.
a white t-shirt goes with everything, no matter what. i've never experienced a situation where it hasn't. and i've had really great luck with the forever 21 tees too, i'm not kidding mine have lasted at least a hundred years. in the summer i like a good v-neck, but lately i've been gravitating toward the sloppy oversize crew, where the neckline looks to be just a liiiiittle bit stretched out. then you throw on a sweater and some boots and you're practically alexa chung already. (i almost wrote "and you've practically earned french citizenship already," but look, i don't want to overdo it, so i didn't. even thought that's basically what i'm going for all of the time, anyway, no matter what, always.)
I haven't ever thought about how good a slouchy tee can look. -Hanna Lei
ReplyDeleteI really love this post, but I don't know how a slouchy tee would look on a larger chested gal like myself. I'm thinking probably not as hot! Worth a try though I suppose, am i right? haha Thanks for the inspiration
ReplyDeletei can vouch! wayyyyyy back when i had a chest. still great.:)
Deletei love myself a good slouchy white tee. so effortless and chic. love these fashion posts! :)
ReplyDeleteAny leggings recommendations for petite girls? I'm 5'2". Maybe. I'm always afraid of looking like a linebacker.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the tees with maxi skirt trend. And YES! white tees go well with just about anything.
ReplyDeletelove this post
ReplyDeleteHey Natalie, you still need to source your images properly. Pinterest is not a source- it's just a carrier service. Let's all respect other people's IP!

Love the watch in the bottom left image- can you tell me what brand it is? I can't quite tell....
ReplyDeleteLove the slouchy tee! Add a leather jacket, a scarf and tall boots and its a perfect outfit. Also, love the roll out of bed idea... question for you though, any suggestions on great leggings that are ankle lenght and not see through? Never seem to be able to find the perfect pair!
ReplyDeleteThe Zella "Live In" leggings are honestly not see-through at all, and they're so much cheaper than Lululemon. Zella is Nordstrom's private brand of athletic clothes, so they're only available there or on Nordstrom.com, but they come in multiple colors and lengths. Highly recommend!
Deleteforever 21, sister! let the forever love you. it wants to love you!
DeleteDefinitely one of my favorite go-to items! :)

Love this post! You have awesome style and I think part of it is the perfect slouchiness of your tees. Going two sizes up is a good idea but then I'm always afraid the neckline will be so loose/low that I'll be flashing the world. Anyway, now we need a tutorial on how to get the perfect half tuck :)
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!! Thank you for sharing, I'm always on the hunt for a good slouchy tee and always fail.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect uniform, especially for us Moms is always the white tee. I'm a tall one and do have trouble finding length at the lower price point.. Target usually. or H&M Men's. Just got a great one there. LOVED the images... and I am A-okay with the way you sourced. ;)
ReplyDeleteread this while wearing the sleeping 2 month old i nanny for, AND my one and only slouchy white tee from gap + soft black jeggings from JCP (best black jeggings i've owned to date), and i could not be more comfortable nor feel more stylish. not that i call myself stylish normally, i just totally feel you on this...
ReplyDeleteI love the look of slouchy tees, mostly on others and not on myself. I don't know why, but for some reason they don't look that good on me. Maybe because I'm very little and it looks like I'm drowning in them, or maybe I just don't know how to style them, that's also very possible, hehe. They are very comfortable though!

NATALIE, YOU ARE SO GOOD. i am laughing out loud right now because i just love you and this post. especially the french citizen part. seriously my everyday aim although i tend to try to be harry styles most days because well, no reason needed. bed hair = best hair
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have a question. Nay, a challenge! I love the idea of a slouchy white tee. I love it so much that I want to marry it. But. They don't look good on me. I have the top-heavy body type, and slouchy becomes sloppy REAL fast. As in, slouchy doesn't even pause, it just keeps driving until it gets to sloppy. I'm a no-slouch zone. So what do I do? I want a white tee. I want to live in a white tee. Help me find a white tee for meeee!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I've been following your Pinterest boards for awhile and loved all the slouchy t-shirt styles...but, I too am wondering about slouchy shirts and giant gazongas. This second baby has taken me from a C to double F's. Holy mother of porn stars, not my favorite fashion accessories : o But maybe I should give it a try, (in a dressing room at least). You make it look good girl!
ReplyDeletethe fact that your white slouchy t round up made me smile more than most other things i've read today is why you're my fav blogger
