as part of my slow and steady descent into dude-dom ,i've found myself completely addicted to neutrals. in every way place shape and form. most especially the color combination of black, white and brown. there's something so serene yet striking about a spare white room with just an element of dark, and something so effortlessly chic about a good brown on black ensemble around town. casual and polished all at the same time.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I get told over and over again that I look great in bright colors but I cannot put aside my love of black, white, brown (and grey as well!) The booties at the top I adored the moment I saw them on Pinterest. I like my shape but I love neutrals and how they make me feel. Obsessed.
ReplyDeletei love this selection of images. great mood.
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes to all of the above. When I was little, my mother adamantly forbade the following color combinations: black and navy blue, red and pink, and black and brown.
ReplyDeleteThis is one instance where I got to tell my mom she was wrong about something.

During my year abroad in the US a cheerleader told me i could/ should not wear black pants with brown shoes. I was intimidated and felt weird whenever I wore black and brown combinations. Natalie to the rescue. Now I wear them with confidence. Yes!

These are all very "you" - whenever I see looks like this I think of your blog. I'm in that phase of my life where I have no idea what I'm doing with my style, but I am definitely drawn the clean, rustic minimalism of these designs. On the other hand, I love color and deep hues.
ReplyDeleteGlo.Ri.Ous. I bought an incredible brown suede jacket from a random vintage store about a year ago and this has inspired me to bring it on out!
ReplyDeleteHave you read the Rachman book? It's wonderful.
ReplyDeletePairing black, white, and brown together is such a simple, neutral look. I would have never thought of wearing these colors together before, but I just love how classic they look!
ReplyDeleteYour style is just impeccable, I want to be you off duty, can I have your wardrobe?
